The Craftsman 3984-18 torpedo level is an 18-inch vintage model featuring a three-vial design, typically consisting of plumb, level, and 45-degree vials. Unlike most modern Craftsman torpedo levels which are 9 inches in length, this specific model is a longer variant designed for tasks requiring more reach while maintaining a compact torpedo profile. Key Specifications and Features: Length: 18 inches, which is significantly longer than the standard 9-inch torpedo levels commonly found today. Vials: Equipped with 3 vials for horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree angle measurements. Construction: Typically features a durable metal frame, often aluminum or cast metal, consistent with the "3984" series of vintage Craftsman tools. Use Cases: Suitable for general construction, plumbing, and DIY projects where a standard torpedo level is too short, but a full-sized box beam level is too bulky.
